Ty Wigginton

Sad to report we could not pull it off last night, but we still put up 9 runs and Wigginton stepped up big leaving the yard twice. I first saw Ty Wigginton play last season, and I liked what I saw. He is only about 6 feet tall, but he has a great glove, and can play anywhere. So far this season he is hitting .321 about 70 points above the league average, and hopefully will keep it up.

I am also happy to report that we are currently beating the Rangers 6-1 in the 5th trying to avoid the sweep. Our boy Wigginton is 2-2 so far with a big RBI double, and Zobrist has hit one out of the park. Rocco and Crawford have switched in the lineup with Rocco leading off now, hopefully this change in scenery will give him more fastballs, and he will get hot.
Only 2 Hits for Shields through 5, one of them being a homerun to center by Rangers Shortstop Michael Young. Michael Young is a player one would love to build a franchise around from what I hear. He is just a player who makes plays, and everybody likes. Ill update later tonight.

GO RAYS

P.S. 21 year old phenom King Felix Hernandez lost his no hitter to JD Drew in the 8th against the Red Sox. But the king is up 3-0 and has given up 1 hit and 1 walk and struck out 5. Plus hes on my fantasy team ;)

Seo

Well things did look good when Wigginton homered to put the D-Rays up 5-3 in the third, but lets face it. Seo is not the guy who will be getting the job done for us this year. it is now 10-5 in the bottom of the third, and Seo is still out there. Ill update sometime tomorrow.

D-rays @ Rangers 8:05

We got Jae Seo goin tonight, whoever the fuck that is. but he has a 7.11 ERA and 2 K. But its early Im sure hell step up tonight. Seo's opponent tonight is Jamey Wright a righty making his first start of the season.

The Cbs Sportsline Accuscore has the Rangers Favored 60% to 40% whatever the hell that thing is. But I like our chances. Rocco has been swinging well, and I definately like him at the DH. We gotta keep Rocco healthy, and as long as Dukes can hold his ground and keep it over the Mendoza line then there is no need to take him out.

Introduction

I am writing this blog because of many reasons. First of all I am from Orlando, Florida perhaps the worst sports town in the nation. I play and love the game of baseball; everything about it. I wish I could live in a baseball town, but my closest is 2 hours west in Tampa, Florida. I am from Chicago, but moved here before I can remember so my real hometown is here in Orlando. I have decided to become a Devil Ray's fan because of two main reasons. First of all, my fantasy baseball team absolutely sucks. I am in dead last in a league full of complete newbies, now I know it is still early but damn some kid just traded Andruw Jones for Granderson, and yes I am in last place. Also, my baseball game got rained out today which means it will be a good day for some xbox live. Of course, the one day I get to use it, it will not let me get into a game with my friend, and I really am not interested in playing with people I do not know from Adam. So yes I have decided to become a Devil Ray.

The thing is a 3rd place finish is right around the corner for the D-Rays they just need better management. Keep the shitty payroll that is fine, just stop going out there and trying to get these cheap "stud" hitters. There will only be one Miguel Cabrera ever Tampa Bay, so stop trying to find him. Our neighbors to the south have always had a good club, and still a cheap payroll. You know why? It is pitching. Pitching wins championships. As soon as the Devil Rays give up on the Gomes, Cantu's, and Wiggintons, and bring in more of the Annibal Sanchez type players they will not finish dead last and perhaps could make a run at third. I like where the team stands right now only a couple games back, and they have Game 2 with Texas tonight. I will be sure to keep updates throughout the game.
